Creative Concept

The “Ride the day” tagline is built around a central metaphor that compares the pace of modern everyday life to a rodeo. The film’s visual narrative explores this metaphor across three layers:

First layer — corporate life. In the opening scene, a character in a suit walks through a modern business district. The character passes in front of a bronze bull statue, an iconic symbol of the financial world.

Second layer — metaphorical transformation. The bronze bull turns into a real rodeo bull. The same character is now in a rodeo arena, trying to “ride” life.

Third layer — control and freedom. The first character falls off the bull; a second character enters the scene and successfully rides the same bull. A “Ride the day” banner rises from the stands. In the final scene, the characters return to the corporate environment, but this time having “reined in the day.”

The creative starting point of the film: speaking to the Sumone brand’s target audience—the modern individual seeking a balance between corporate life and personal freedom.

Production Pipeline

Star Istanbul’s AI production pipeline consists of the following seven stages:

1. Creative concept development — brand brief analysis, target audience segmentation, message strategy

2. Storyboard and scene planning — classic storyboard process, visual map of the scenes

3. Prompt engineering — detailed visual and motion prompts for each scene

4. Generative AI production — scene generation with text-to-video models

5. Character and scene consistency control — ensuring AI outputs match brand standards and film continuity

6. Editing and post-production — scene assembly, color grading, sound design

7. Music and sound design — a sound layer suited to the film’s atmosphere

Character Consistency

One of the biggest technical challenges in AI-generated films is making the same character appear consistent across different scenes. In “Ride the Day,” two main characters appear across five different scenes and four different camera angles with consistent facial, hair, and clothing details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Was the Sumone “Ride the Day” film produced entirely with AI?

Yes. No live-action footage, stock footage, or live actors were used in the film. All visuals were generated with generative AI models.

Which AI models were used?

Star Istanbul uses different text-to-video models together depending on the project. Model selection is based on each scene’s requirements, such as character close-ups, motion composition, crowd scenes, and physics simulation. The studio’s current pipeline works across three categories: models with strong character consistency, models with high motion quality, and models with strong scene composition.

Are there creative production agencies in Turkey that make AI-generated commercials?

There are still only a limited number of studios in Turkey that combine AI production with creative direction. Star Istanbul is one of the studios actively working in this field.

Is an AI-generated commercial different from traditional commercial production?

In terms of output quality, the difference for viewers is gradually decreasing. In terms of the production process, the differences are duration, crew size, location independence, and variant production capacity. See the table above for a detailed comparison.

How do licensing and copyright work for an AI-generated film?

The copyright terms for AI-generated content are governed by the agreement between the producing studio and the brand. In Turkey, there is not yet a dedicated copyright framework for AI-generated content; the existing Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works applies. For every project, Star Istanbul signs a written agreement with the client brand regarding usage rights.

What is the cost of AI production?

The cost of AI production varies depending on the project’s scope, duration, complexity, and delivery process. Compared with traditional production, location, actor, equipment, and set costs are eliminated; creative development and technical production costs become the dominant cost areas. For a specific project proposal, you can contact Star Istanbul directly.

Which industries are suitable for AI production?

AI production is especially suitable for the following industries: textiles and fashion (campaign shoots), FMCG (product launch films), retail (seasonal campaigns), finance and technology (corporate short films), and automotive (concept and lifestyle films). For food and beverage categories that require specific product presentation, a hybrid approach is recommended.

Advantages of AI Production

1. Speed. Much of the shooting and post-production process that takes weeks in traditional production can be reduced to days in AI production.

2. Shift in cost structure. Location, actor, equipment, set, and travel expenses are eliminated in AI production. Costs shift toward creative development and technical production.

3. Creative flexibility. Scenes that are limited in traditional shooting can be produced with AI within the same cost and time frame.

4. Variant production. Producing multiple variants of the same campaign for different markets, target audiences, or platforms becomes practical.

Limitations of AI Production

For the full picture, it is also important to note the limitations:

  • Character consistency depends on model generation; longer narratives require additional technical intervention
  • Specific product presentation requires an additional pipeline in AI production
  • Dialogue scenes are still weaker compared with traditional shooting
  • Some physical interactions (fluid dynamics, manipulation of small objects) may contain anomalies

In every project, Star Istanbul uses the areas where AI is strongest; where technical limitations arise, it recommends hybrid methods or alternative approaches.

Glossary

AI Production (Generative AI Production): A production method in which visual and motion content is generated by artificial intelligence models.

Text-to-video: A category of generative AI models that produce video output from a text-based prompt.

Prompt engineering: The process of preparing and optimizing written instructions to obtain the desired output from an AI model.

Character consistency: A technical control that ensures the same character appears with the same visual identity across different AI-generated scenes.

Pipeline: The entire production flow from creative concept to final delivery.

Brand film: A short cinematic piece of content that communicates a brand’s identity and values rather than directly selling a product or service.

Conclusion

The Sumone “Ride the Day” film is a concrete example of how AI production can be integrated by an advertising agency. Regardless of the production technology, the creative idea is the foundation of the film. When AI is combined with the right creative direction, it can deliver visual quality and brand communication comparable to traditional production.

At Star Istanbul, we observe that AI is a tool in advertising production and does not replace the creative idea. The success of the film is not the success of AI itself, but of the creative direction shaped through AI.
